Sunday Post is a meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer which takes place every Sunday. Its a place to look back on the week and share what’s been happening with you personally, what’s been on your blog, what you have been reading, what books you have received and what is happening on your blog next week.
Sorry for not posting last Sunday. I had a lot of things on and it just slipped my mind. I’m back now though and I have a few things to share from the past week. As always let me know what you have been up to this week in the comments.
It’s been a pretty average week. Well, apart from a few things. For starters I went to my first Adult Book Club meeting at my local Waterstones. I already go to the YA book club but thought I’d try out this one too. We were discussing books from the Man Booker prize long list. I had tried to read Swing Time by Zadie Smith but I had to give up as I couldn’t get into it. It was a good discussion though and I met some lovely people. Will definitely continue going.
I then got some amazing news! At the end of August I applied to do work experience with Penguin Random House Publishers. After waiting for just over a month I got an email back offering me a place! From 4th – 15th December I am going to be doing work experience at Penguin in Children’s Marketing & Publicity in London. I literally screamed in excitement when I got the email. My dream is to work in publishing and this is just the beginning. I have been on a high ever since.
I also spent some time with James for a few days. We had a little shopping trip and just enjoyed each others company. I then worked over the weekend which isn’t too bad really. I love my job.
