April Wrap Up

Wow! April has just flown by hasn’t it? I can’t believe we are in May now and that 2018 is going by so fast. I am looking forward to hopefully better weather and being able to read outside again.

April was an average month for reading I’d say. I only managed to get four books read but in my opinion that is pretty decent going. April was also a busy month for me so I’m pretty pleased with myself.

What was your April like? Let me know!

April Reads

Twelve Nights was a DNF for me. I wanted so badly to like this book due to all the hype surrounding it. The book itself had promise but it just fell very short of the mark. The plot was confusing and despite the writing style being very descriptive I just felt it didn’t move the story on at all.

Oh my god I LOVED The Smoke Thieves! It had everything I look for in a YA Fantasy. It had magic, exciting kingdoms and an amazing plot. I also loved the elements of Demons and I can’t wait to learn more about them. Check out my full review if you want to know more.

Sunflowers in February was a book with a very unique take on grief and how we deal with the loss of a loved one. Yes, I found the plot to be somewhat predictable but overall it was an emotional read that I did enjoy.

Despite being aimed at middle grade The List of Real Things was a very heart wrenching read. I enjoyed the magical realism the most and the topic of sisterly love. It’s a short read at just over 200 pages but it had everything you wanted.
