Can’t Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings where you showcase an upcoming book that you are looking forward to.
This week I am talking about Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell. I LOVED Carry On and I literally cannot wait for Wayward Son. I have already preordered the signed Waterstones limited edition of the book and I will be rereading Fangirl and Carry On in the lead up to release date.
Have you read Carry On? And are you looking forward to Wayward Son?
Wayward Son (Simon Snow #2) by Rainbow Rowell
Published by: Macmillan Children’s Books
Released: 3rd October 2019

The story is supposed to be over.
Simon Snow did everything he was supposed to do. He beat the villain. He won the war. He even fell in love. Now comes the good part, right? Now comes the happily ever after…
So why can’t Simon Snow get off the couch?
What he needs, according to his best friend, is a change of scenery. He just needs to see himself in a new light…
That’s how Simon and Penny and Baz end up in a vintage convertible, tearing across the American West.
They find trouble, of course. (Dragons, vampires, skunk-headed things with shotguns.) And they get lost. They get so lost, they start to wonder whether they ever knew where they were headed in the first place…
With Wayward Son, Rainbow Rowell has written a book for everyone who ever wondered what happened to the Chosen One after he saved the day. And a book for everyone who was ever more curious about the second kiss than the first. It’s another helping of sour cherry scones with an absolutely decadent amount of butter.
Come on, Simon Snow. Your hero’s journey might be over – but your life has just begun.
Well..this sounds even better than Carry On and I adored that book so much! I cannot wait to read about Baz and Simon’s new adventure and see how they get themselves out trouble. Rainbow Rowell has truly created some incredible characters and a unique series that I honestly can’t wait to get back into.

I own carry on but have never read it .. I think I may have to get it pushed farther up the TBR

I know people either loved or hated Carry On but I really enjoyed it and am so glad to see a sequel.

I haven’t read Carry On, or anything by Rowell beyond Eleanor and Park, really. This series does sound good though. I hope you love this installment as much as you enjoyed the last one. Have a great week!
