Mini Review Monday #4

Yes, I know it’s been a while since a Mini Review Monday but if I’m honest I have been lacking motivation to blog recently but hopefully that’s coming back and I WILL make sure Mini Review Monday appears every 2 weeks.

Today I am talking about two books which are actually sequels and that I have read very recently. One is an amazing YA thriller and the other a MG detective series. Both equally as incredible as one another.

What books have you recently given 4 or 5 stars to?

Potkin & Stubbs: The Haunting of Peligan City by Sophie Green

Now, I’d been so excited for this book ever since I read the first book last year, and as soon as I got my hands on it, I started reading straight away. The book picks up almost straight after the events of book one and because of that I became instantly immersed into the mystery surrounding the town of Peligan City. I think the plot was slightly better in this one and because of this I just couldn’t stop reading! I needed to know what was going to happen, and all the twists, you could say, were very surprising indeed. Sophie has built up such an incredible, unique world and I am buzzing for book three. I literally need it now!

D.O.G.S by M.A. Bennett

When I thought this series couldn’t get any better, BAM I read D.O.G.S. This is the sequel to S.T.A.G.S. which I read over the summer and I was honestly blown away by it. You are thrust right back into the lives of Greer, Nel and Shafeen at St Aidan the Great School, almost straight after the events of S.T.A.G.S and because of this you are automatically immersed and hooked. The whole plot was full of mystery, shocks and twists that you can honestly say, hand on heart, that you didn’t see coming. I lost count of the amount of times I gasped while reading. This series is fast becoming one of my favourite YA Thriller series of all time and I am literally dying for book 3 after the way D.O.G.S ended. Give it to me….NOW!
