Hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. The topic for this week is ‘Books I Brought/Borrowed because..’
Now I have a whole group of friends within the book community and that means that I am often recommended books by them. This results in me looking into said book and then buying or borrowing it from my local library. So, I’m going to be sharing some books that I have picked up due to recommendations from friends.
What book would you recommend to me?
1. Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin

2. A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

3. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

4. American Royals by Katharine McGee

5. Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalo

6. Daisy Jones and The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

7. Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson

8. House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas

9. The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

10. The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo

American Royals is the only one on your list that I’ve read. It was goodish, perfect for when you want a light and frothy read. And I have Daisy on my shelves to read soon. Love getting recommendations from friends.

I’ve read quite a few of these, to varying results. I really enjoyed Stalking Jack The Ripper & Gentleman’s Guide but wasn’t so keen on Foul is Fair or A Curse So Dark and Lonely, and I couldn’t finish The Belles.

I also did books I read because of hype or peer pressure! And A Curse So Dark and Lonely made my list, too. I picked up Daisy Jones on audiobook because of all the hype, but I still haven’t “read” it yet.

I always love getting recommendations from friends, especially when they know my reading tastes well. It’s interesting, too, to see how my reading tastes or opinions on certain books differ from friends with similar tastes.
Happy TTT!
