Amy Does The Stay At Home Book Tag

Today I am going to be doing the Stay At Home Book Tag! I’ve seen this tag making the rounds on many book blogs the last few weeks and after seeing my lovely friend Rose at Life Amongst The Pages take part, I thought I would finally do it.

1. Laying in bed – A book you read in a day

The last book I read in a day was Asking For A Friend by Kate Mallinder. It was just too good to put down. I absolutely devoured it and have been raving about it ever since! My early review is here, if anyone wants to check it out.

2. Snacking – A book that is a ‘guilty pleasure’ read

Oh, well it has to be Twilight doesn’t it? After the news about Midnight Sun I am desperate to do a reread of the entire series. I was obsessed with the books when I was in teens and I know people hate on it, but it’s the book series that got me back into reading after a break from it, so it will always have a place in my heart.

3. Netflix – A series you want to start

Oh my, there’s loads! I am really intrigued to start the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab though. Many of my book blogger friends rave about it, and I, myself, have heard great things about the series. Think I’m gonna have to invest in the books.

4. Deep clean – A book that has been on your TBR for ages

There’s too many! But one that comes to mind is What If It’s Us by Adam Silvera and Becky Albertalli. I got it back in 2018 when I went to an event they did, and yet still haven’t read it. I will get to it someday..I hope!

5. Animal Crossing – A book you bought recently because of the hype

I am so bad for doing this! I brought House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J Maas because of the hype, and it’s still sitting on my TBR. I am hoping it lives up to all the hype it’s getting, but as it’s Sarah J Maas I am 90 percent sure it will.

6. Productivity – A book you learned from or had an impact on you

This was actually a hard question to answer! All of the books I read have some sort of impact on me in one way or another. Most recently it was The Star Outside my Window by Onjali Q Rauf. The story was just poignant and about an issue that I don’t know much about. I went away from it feeling very emotional but also like I’d learnt something.

7. FaceTime – A book you were gifted

My friend and fellow book blogger Emily over at A Short Book Lover sent me a few books a few weeks ago. Those being Fig Swims the World by Lou Abercrombie, Scars Like Wings by Erin Stewart and Girl Up by Laura Bates.

8. Self-Care – What is one thing you have done recently to look after yourself

I suffer from anxiety so having to adjust to this new kind of normal has taken it’s toll on me. What I’ve been doing to look after myself during these uncertain times is going on daily walks, reading, trying to avoid the news, practicing mindfulness, keeping in touch with friends and writing. It seems to be working well.

9. Bonus – An upcoming release you are looking forward to

There are so many books coming out soon that I am excited to read! Some being Wonderland by Juno Dawson, Read With Pride by Lucy Powrie, The Unadoptables by Hana Tooke, Umbrella Mouse To The Rescue by Anna Fargher, Blood Moon by Lucy Cuthew and Hideous Beauty by William Hussey. All of these are set to be amazing reads!
