My Recent Reads #2

Welcome back to Recent Reads! My fortnightly post highlighting some books that I have recently read. I got some great comments from my first recent reads post, so am excited to be sharing another one.

The Switch Up: L.A. Exchange by Katy Cannon

This was an enjoyable, fun, quick read that gave me summer vibes all round. It was really great to be back in the lives of Alice and Willa and I found myself enjoying this book more than the first one. It’s definitely a book to read if you want those summery feels. Full review here.

The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo

Elizabeth Acevedo is becoming one of my favourite YA authors and The Poet X made me fall in love with her writing even more. I read this in one sitting and literally couldn’t put it down. Everything about it was perfection.

The Rules by Tracy Darnton

The Rules was a hard-hitting thriller all about one girl’s journey to avoid her prepper father. It was an intriguing read and opened my eyes to a part of society that I knew nothing about. The ending had me wanting more, mind you, and I would love to know what happened next. Full review here.

Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust

Well, this was just an incredible read, rich in Persian mythology and culture. I was instantly captivated by the magical world, and didn’t want to put it down. It’s a truly stunning read and one I am going to be shouting about for years to come. Full review here.

You Should See Me In A Crown by Leah Johnson

Well, You Should See Me In A Crown was definitely worth the hype! It had my heart bursting with joy and the diversity within it was just amazing! It had me smiling, laughing and at times crying. It’s one that you should all be reading, as it’s incredible!
